What Mental Health Professionals Need to Know
Dr. Reo Leslie has been a longtime supporter of CAP, serving on the CAP Advisory Board and previously as CAP’s Legislative Affairs Chair for a decade. Because of his extensive involvement with DORA and his strong focus on professional ethics, Dr. Leslie has frequently helped CAP members understand changes, concerns, and developing issues affecting mental health professionals in Colorado.
Dr. Leslie was appointed to a Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) committee to help develop professional standards for regulated Marriage and Family Therapists. His experience with ethics, regulation, and professional practice makes him an especially valuable resource for this conversation.

Dr. Reo Leslie, LMFT, LPC, LAC, MAC, ACS, RPT-S served as the CAP Legislative Affairs Chair for a decade and is the CEO of the Colorado School for Family Therapy. He will discuss the areas where mental health professionals get in the most trouble in DORA complaints and ways to reduce the risk of DORA grievances and lawsuits. Dr. Reo Leslie will give examples of recent cases of DORA and what happened with the DORA regulatory boards. Q and A will be included. Please bring questions and concerns to the table for discussion.
