Curious about AI but unsure how to use it responsibly in a helping profession? This interactive 1-hour lab is designed for coaches, counselors, and mental health practitioners who want practical ways to use AI for support tasks—without compromising confidentiality, ethics, or clinical judgment.
This is not a lecture-style class. You’ll build a reusable “AI Practice Kit” (Persona + DNA + Playbook) and use it to create one finished deliverable you can use right away.
What we’ll cover:
In this session you’ll learn how to:
- Use ChatGPT settings and basic habits to reduce risk and protect privacy
- Create your AI Practice Kit: Persona (your role, audience, boundaries), DNA (tone, values, language preferences, Playbook (your workflow, safety rules, and output preferences)
- Add a short sample of your own writing (de-identified) so AI can better match your tone
- Use voice input to capture ideas quickly and turn them into clean drafts
- Search chats to reuse your best prompts and save time
- Apply the Practice Kit to a real “project” (choose one): client worksheet / reflection prompts, between-session message templates, role-play scripts for difficult conversations. group session outline or psychoeducation handout
What you’ll leave with
You’ll walk away with:
- A copy/paste AI Practice Kit you can reuse for any future prompt
- A simple method for de-identifying information and staying within scope
- One completed draft deliverable tailored to your voice and practice style
Who this is for
- Coaches, counselors, therapists, case managers, and other helping professionals
- Anyone who wants to use AI for writing, planning, and communication support—while keeping boundaries clear
What to bring
- A laptop (recommended)
- One short sample of your writing you’re comfortable sharing without identifying client information (a de-identified email, handout paragraph, or script works well)
