I use a metaphysical approach to depression and self-hatred – helping to create the conditions in which change occurs rather than perusing the change itself. I also support the client in embracing the feelings they have been trying to resolve with logic and achievement and allow these feelings to lead them back to early trauma and self-defeating beliefs. This is a non-directive approach that allows the client to discover who they uniquely are as opposed to what they think they would like to become. Change is lasting and often dramatic - occurring within moments, weeks, and months as opposed to years.

I believe we all have a core self or soul that is not necessarily expressed or manifest. I also believe we have the capacity to awaken to our soul and fulfill its journey. When we access this core self, healing power is released that moves us towards ever greater well-being and wholeness. We feel more alive, more present, and filled with a deeper sense of meaning. We also experience the connection between ourselves and the people around us.
I have found, in myself and in others, that the way to connect with our core self is to listen fully to all parts of ourselves with curiosity, unconditional acceptance and presence. I have also discovered that we can create authentic, fulfilling relationships with others only when we have a relationship with our core self.
My approach as a psychotherapist is to honor the soul of each person and support them in accessing the innate wisdom, aliveness and healing power that this self contains. I do this through deep empathic listening, gentle guidance, intuition and by using methods from Nonviolent Communication™, Spiritual Psychology and Inner Relationship Focusing.
Much in the unconscious affects one's life. Jungian work focuses on listening, watching, observing messages from the unconscious so one can live more in harmony with oneself.

At your first appointment we will discuss your concerns and learn more about how those concerns are impacting the things in life that you care about. Then we will develop a plan. We believe that therapy should be productive, so we will work from the beginning to make sure we are moving in the direction you want to go. Similar to a doctor or dentist, our vision is that we can build a relationship that is lasting. We may meet more regularly while you are going through difficult times. Once you are feeling better maybe we meet for a yearly “check-in” or you come back if life gets hard again. There is no right or wrong way. We want you to have access to support when you need it.
