Membership Requirements and Benefits
Professional
The Professional Membership level is for practicing therapists and counselors.
Requirements
- Professional Members are required to be registered or licensed to practice counseling/therapy in the state of Colorado.
- Professional Members are required to abide by the CAP Code Of Ethics and the code of ethics of any professional psychological or counseling association to which they belong.
Benefits
- Promote your practice with a Professional Membership, which includes a deluxe listing with preferred priority in the Find A Therapist search, and 6 images
- Educational opportunities include monthly seminars by experts designed to keep members abreast of the rapidly changing field of psychotherapy and provide guidance for business best practices.
- Members can earn Continuing Competency hours toward DORA ongoing educational requirements at our seminars.
- Legislative advocacy opportunities include:
- becoming informed about the legislative and regulatory activity that impacts Unlicensed Psychotherapists in Colorado;
- working directly with state regulators and lawmakers to improve mental healthcare for Coloradans.
Annual Membership Fee: $95
Associate
The Associate Membership level is for individuals who support CAP through the donation of goods/services or who set their professional status aside, but still wish to remain connected to CAP.
Requirements
- Members are required to abide by the CAP Code Of Ethics and the code of ethics of any professional psychological or counseling association to which they belong.

- Associate directory listing includes an enhanced listing in the directory, with a business description, and 4 images
- Educational opportunities include monthly seminars by experts designed to keep members abreast of the rapidly changing field of psychotherapy and provide guidance for business best practices
- Legislative advocacy opportunities include:
- becoming informed about the legislative and regulatory activity that impacts Unlicensed Psychotherapists in Colorado;
- working directly with state regulators and lawmakers to improve mental healthcare for Coloradans.
Annual Membership Fee: $75
Student
The Student Membership level is available to non-practicing, full-time students in the mental health field.
Requirements
- Student Members agree to abide by the CAP Code Of Ethics.

- Student directory listing includes a basic listing in the directory, with a business description, and 2 images
- Educational opportunities include monthly seminars by experts designed to supplement studies in psychotherapy and prepare student members to start a practice.
- Legislative advocacy opportunities include:
- becoming informed about the legislative and regulatory activity that impacts Unlicensed Psychotherapists in Colorado;
- working directly with state regulators and lawmakers to improve mental healthcare for Coloradans.
Annual Membership Fee: $40

There are three easy steps to join CAP.
- Register/Login: New and renewing members must create a login and password on this website first. Your login is required to join/renew your membership and to create/update your member profile. If your membership is long expired, you will need to create a new login to renew.
- Create/Renew Listing: Submit your business listing for the Therapist Directory by completing the required fields. Optional fields can be edited later to enhance your listing.
- Pay for Membership: Pay your membership fee through Stripe. Stripe is our secure merchant services processor.
