SUMMARY:Understanding the Science behind the Mental Health Benefits of Psilocybin Microdosing
DESCRIPTION:Event Details: \n\nDate: Friday\, November  14th\, 2025\nTime: 11 AM – 12 PM\nZoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3032553503\nContact:  mariana@marianaiurcovich.com\nPresenter contact:Charity@cts-gyot.com\n\n  \nThe event will be recorded and posted on the channel below \n\nYouTube link: Colorado Association of Psychotherapists – YouTube\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHosted by the Colorado Association of Psychotherapists\nJoin us for a transformative virtual event\, presented by Charity Mills\, as we explore the emerging therapeutic potential of psilocybin microdosing. In this engaging session\, Charity will share how microdosing is gaining recognition as a powerful tool for supporting positive mental health\, opening pathways to fresh perspectives\, new ways of thinking\, and meaningful shifts in life experience. Discover how this innovative approach may inspire personal growth\, healing\, and change. \nColorado voted to decriminalize psilocybin for mental health purposes in 2022 and that has changed the landscape of how we are able to work with our clients. No longer are we confined to old ideas and pharmaceuticals that often contribute to more problems than they help. Instead we can work with clients as they are relaxing rigid thought patterns and creating new neural connections.  \nDuring this engaging presentation we will discuss how psilocybin microdosing is emerging as a therapeutic modality that contributes to positive mental health for anyone seeking change in thought\, perspective\, and their current life experience. From goals including enhancement of creativity\, focus and clarity to reduction of debilitating anxiety\, trauma and depressive symptoms\, microdosing is something that fits into everyday life. Join me as we discuss some of the most common questions surrounding microdosing. My goal is to pique your curiosity and provide new understanding and insight into specifics including: \n\n  How microdosing psilocybin is different from using pharmaceuticals such as SSRIs\n  Basic neuroscience of psilocybin’s effect on various areas of the brain and how changes in these areas impact overall emotional regulation and functioning\n  Differences in goals and experiences between microdosing and macrodosing/journeys\n  Role of therapy when combined with microdosing \n  Discussion about mushroom strain and dosing regimen\n  Understanding that microdosing is not about what you feel\, but instead about what you notice\n  Psilocybin is not a coping mechanism\, it promotes healing and permanent change \n  How psilocybin is different from ketamine in both physiology and client experience\n\n  \nMaybe you have years of mushroom experience\, or maybe you have only heard inklings about psilocybin. Join the CAP session on November 14th and be prepared to learn something new. If you can’t make it\, watch for the recording to be posted and reach out afterward with any questions.  \n\n\nWe are excited to engage in this interesting conversation.  \n\n\n\n
