CAP Education Event — Spirituality and Psychotherapy: Avoid Burnout and Practice with Purpose
November 20, 2020 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm MST
Spirituality and Psychotherapy: AVOID BURNOUT — PRACTICE WITH PURPOSE
Friday, November 20, 2020, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm followed by optional Happy Hour of Thanks.
Join Dr. Paula Gable and Carol O’Dowd in an exploration of practicing with purpose using spirituality in our practice. As healers, therapists, and coaches, we are on our respective journeys of self-transformation. By recognizing our own experiences, we can avoid getting caught up in the storyline of those we serve. We can learn and grow while helping others on their path. By doing so, we avoid burnout. When working with clients experiencing pain and/or loss, it is important to connect with them where they are. At the same time, we do not want to become trapped or lost. Engaging with our clients using body, mind, and spirit, we can support the re-discovery of resilience — theirs and ours.
Workshop goals are to:
- Explore tools for using spirituality as part of psychotherapy
- Review techniques to avoid getting caught in transference issues
- Share practices for self-reflection to reduce stress
- Create a community of practitioners
Optional Happy Hour immediately follows: Raise your favorite beverage for a toast and share a blessing for a smile. Donations are welcomed and deeply appreciated.
